FORTUNE TELLERS
© Louis Gaston
They said my very birth was daunted
Said I was born unwanted
And I was meant to drown
They didn’t let me be a child
When I was young and wild
They’d only put me down
They predicted this, predicted that
They cursed me all they could
They read out from their crystal balls
Saying I was just no good
But I found inside the strength to carry on
So I guess the Fortune Tellers had it wrong.
They said I’d never learn my lesson
They kept me in detention
They threw me out the door
And then they pushed me in the battle
They knocked my off my saddle
To loose me in the war
They predicted this, predicted that
They cursed me all they could
They read out from their crystal balls
Saying I was just no good
Will I ever find a place where I belong?
I just hope the Fortune Tellers have it wrong.
It gave them only satisfaction
To watch the chain reaction
And see me lose it all
It made them glad when I hit bottom
By I made it through the autumn
See me standing from the fall
They predicted this, predicted that
They cursed me all they could
They read out from their crystal balls
Saying I was just no good
But the words that didn’t slay me made me strong
Goes to show the Fortune Tellers had it wrong…
… predicting stuff
And cursing all they can
They told me I am just a joke
That I’d never be a man
I had to put my story in a song
So you’d know the Fortune Tellers…
…know the Fortune Tellers had it wrong!

CARRY ON
© Louis Gaston
You heard Your voices calling
And You believed the crazy words they’d say
You followed them around the world
Your Hopes & Dreams they carried You away
They Carried On…
Oh vagabond You live a Life of sin
You tackle danger with a grin
You thought it to be brave to misbehave
D’ya hear me singing on Your grave?
I’ll Carry On… I’ll Carry On…
The journey ended on a beach in Spain
You couldn’t put up with the pain
You’d seen your life go by, You cry
Your Hopes & Dreams they asked for You to die
They Carried On… and Carried On…
You chose to wait for the sun to rise
See him reaching for the skies
And have that printed in your eyes…
It’s beauty be the last thing that You’d see
Before You take off and fly free
Your wings would spread across the sea…
Check the branch ; check the knot is loose
Check Your head inside the noose
And then said “Farewell” to the world: it’s cruel
My Boy, You kicked away the stool
You Carried Off…. I’ll Carry On…
Your leap of faith, it didn’t make a sound
Your feet they never hit the ground
Now Your eyes are shut, Your lips are cold,
And all those poems that You wrote, were never to be told
My Hopes and Dreams don’t fool me today
My Innocence belongs to long ago
But I’ll keep You in my Heart deep down inside,
My friend : You’re everywhere I go
We Carry On… Carry On… We Carry on.
I play it tough and hard
Today my heart feels like a broken piece of glass
And I’m singing for memory to last
Alike an echo from the past You Carry On…

I’M STILL
© Louis Gaston
I’m still, I still got words unspoken,
A lot was never said and left untold,
My Love is hurt but still not broken
The feeling just got frozen in the cold.
I’m still, I’m hiding and I’m sorry
I’m guilty for the chances that I blew
I’m stuck, I cannot change the story
So many things I wish I could undo
Cause I’m still in Love and I’m still in Love with you…
I’m still, I cannot move a muscle
I’m paralysed in fear without a clue
My blood is clotting in my vessels
I’m petrified, my heart is cut in two
Cause I’m Still in Love, and I’m Still in Love with You
The winds have changed, the seasons past
The pale spring it didn’t last
The sky is wearing darker shades of blue
But come and go the rain and shine
Never stop this Love of mine
It’s carries on and on, forever true
I’m Still in Love, and I’m Still in Love with You…
The winds have changed, the seasons past
The pale spring it didn’t last
The sky is wearing darker shades of blue
But come and go the rain and shine
Never stop this Love of mine
It’s carries on and on, forever true
I’m Still in Love, and I’m Still in Love with You…
I’m still not willing to surrender
I hang on to a fight I can’t pursue
And still I’m wrestling this contender
The battle’s lost and nothing left to do
So many things I wish I could undo
Cause I’m Still in Love and I’m Still in Love with You,

BLOW MY BLOODY BLUES AWAY
© Louis Gaston
Walls are speaking
What’s the meaning
Blue Words in White Craie
Rain is pouring
Letters dripping
Blue Words in White Craie
Storm it cries
Wind arise
Won’t You Blow my Bloody Blues Away
Flame is burning
Candles shrinking
The clock won’t stop today
Ice is melting
As times are changing
The clock won’t stop today
I have a feeling
That something’s coming
To Blow my Bloody Blues Away
Some are choosing’
Others loosing
The End is on its way
Guns are aiming
Lives are fading
The End is on its way
Hearts are leaking
Souls are bleeding
They Blow my Bloody Blues Away
Angels crying
God is trying
But they ain’t here to stay
Devils dancing
Mortals dying
But no one’s here to stay
Faith is saying
" Keep on praying "
Lord, Blow my Bloody Blues Away
Blow my Bloody Blues Away

Song For You And I

SONG FOR YOU AND I
© Louis Gaston
I wrote a song for You and I
A sweet excuse, an alibi
A way to bring You back from far away
A cosy home, a feather nest
To draw You from your peaceful rest
A place to get together when I pray
You enter though the second verse
You lovely blessing, gentle curse
A tender little Angel in my mind
You glide inside and look around
You fold Your wings and touch the ground
And You smile cause You like what You find
But I saw You didn’t close the door behind…
A song for You and I
A space between the heavens and the sky
Where it’s alright to laugh, and it’s okay to cry
And safe to see Your face before I die…
We kiss and dance and reunite
We share a bliss of pure delight
We love like it’s not last
And sure enough it isn’t long
Until the middle of the song
When suddenly You vanish in a blast
Just like You disappeared in the past
A song for You and I
A space between the heavens and the sky
Where it’s alright to laugh, and it’s okay to cry
And safe to see Your face before I die…
And I feel I am driven towards You
Crossing over the bridge that I sing
And I’m hearing Your voice
As I follow my choice
From a winter without You
Right into the spring of…
A song for You and I
A-way beyond the Heavens and the Sky
Where it’s alright to laugh, and no need to cry
We’ll be together forever and ever
Just You and I.

TOMORROW
© Louis Gaston
Tomorrow, I’ll be free from all my sorrow
I’m sick and tired of playing solo
Oh I can’t wait for tomorrow
Come Destiny; make me the man that I was meant to be
Take my dreams and shine them back on me
Tomorrow be my Destiny
But today, the sky is grey, and I pray
That I can make it through the night
I’ll hold on tight
Trouble: pass your way
Don’t want you to stay
I pray for change to be alright
Until Tomorrow, I’ll have a brand new star to follow
Peace and Love could be my motto
Oh I can’t wait… for Tomorrow

BLOWING THROUGH THE TREES
© Lesley Simons / Louis Gaston
I’v seen the sights of the world, what a sight to see
Freedom blowing through my hair
Like the wind blowing through the trees
A scent of spring in the air, and I belong
Any place anywhere I can move on from
Anywhere I can hear the wind Blowing Through The Trees
It’s winter all around, but the summer’s on my face
I was beaten to the ground but I found my saving grace
Bittersweet is the rain, I Carry On
Bittersweet the refrain that I sing along
Bittersweet is the wind Blowing Through The Trees
And after all…
After all that’s said and done
Is that really all there is?
Tell me what I’m running from
Tell me what I’m running from
I’ve seen the sights of the world, the horror and the dream
Heard it singing in my soul, the whisper and the scream
Flush of hope on my face, and I belong
Anywhere any place I can move on from
Any place I can feel the wind Blowing Through The Trees
And after all…
After all that’s said and done
Is that really all there is?
Tell me what I’m running from
Tell me what I’m running from

I MISS YOU
© Louis Gaston
I Miss You, I Miss You
There’s a shadow where Your body used to lie
The lonely teardrops on my pillow never seem to want to dry
I Miss You, I can feel You breathe while I know it’s just a draft
I’m smiling at the times We argued, I cry the times We laughed
I loved You, I love You
It hurts the way You’re with me all the time
You left a heavy stain behind You, the phantoms of Your prime
I Miss You, and Your ghost it haunts me every single day
It’s a curse to live without You, it’s a price I’ll have to pay
I remember:
The times You’d hold my hand and whisper:
“Everything’s Alright”
I held on tight
I saw the light You shine
Now it’s dark I hope You’re fine
I hope your lovers treat You kind
Don’t ever look behind
Cause You might find
You’re still and always on my mind
I Miss You, I Miss You
I recall the night Our dream was torn apart…
It might have smashed me down to pieces,
But as the suffering decreases
You’re fading from my broken heart…
… I dismiss You
I just can’t forget the coldness in Your eye
The cruelty in the fashion
And the absence of compassion
In the way You said goodbye.

KARMA KARMA KARMA
© Louis Gaston
I acted as a fool
I gotta take the blame
Never meant to be so cruel
But I hurt You just the same
Brought tears to the cheeks of my mother
We drove each other mad
For all I made her suffer
The shame is very bad
I’ll take my time
To walk the line
In response: ability
Oh, Karma, Karma, Karma
Come to me
I acted as a savage
Time and time again
You know I’ve done a lot of damage
And caused a lot of pain
Consequences:
I’m doing time
Amending my crime
Paying my debt to society
So Karma, Karma, Karma…
Put pen to paper
And I listed all the ways I done you wrong
The list is long… but I’m still willing…
I’m here to face it
And I’m neither trying to hide or run away
I’m pleading guilty, I’m here to pay
And now’s the time
To redefine
What it takes to be a man
Oh, Karma, Karma, Karma
Here I am… doing time
Amending crime
Paying debt to society
So Karma, Karma, Karma
Wash me free

TIME IS GETTING OLD
© Louis Gaston
A foggy mind, and the clouds don’t go away
Shades of black and gray
I trade my truth for a lie of solid gold
Time is getting old…
Spent many hours, I can waste a little more
Waiting by the door
I don’t want no reason, but I guess I need a goal
Time is getting old…
I tried my best, I did everything I could
Didn’t do much good
I played my best cards now I guess it’s time to fold
Time is getting old…
I use to burn, I had sparkles in my soul
Now it’s getting cold
The fire’s out, and the embers turn to coal
Time is getting old…
The sun is going down, as I’m wrapping up my song
Life will carry on
I’m letting go, of this pain I’m used to hold
Time is getting old…

I FOUND LOVE
© Louis Gaston & Yarol Poupaud
I was about to pack my things and go across the borderline
Hit the long and winding road and leave it all behind
I’d given up my faith in trying
All my dreams were slowly drying
And deep inside my heart was getting cold
I saw Her dancing in the street that night, laughing at the rain
She offered me Her sweetest smile it washed away my pain
Then She took me by the hand
Gently said: "I understand"
Her voice was soft and warm as gold
I found Love, I found Love, I found real Love
I found Love, I found Love, I found real Love
Sweet Love when We’re together
Hard Love when We’re apart
I found Love through Loving You
She taught me how to love and live and hope… not how to grieve
That I had to teach myself on the day She had to leave
Don’t know where She chose to go
High above or down below
She didn’t leave a note behind
I found Love, I found Love, I found real Love
I found Love, I found Love, I found real Love
Sweet Love when We’re together
Hard Love when We’re apart
I found Love through Loving You
…Now I know she’s gone forever
I think about our time together
And it feels like it was just a dream…
I found Love, I found Love, I found real Love
I found Love, I found Love, I found real Love
Sweet Love when We’re together
Hard Love when We’re apart
I found Love through Loving You

Louis Gaston Paris, France
Louis Gaston stands for his blues-rock influences and carves his French name on the wooden benches of the Songwriter’s
Club.
The lyrics are maybe sour, often ironic, sometimes dark, always honest.
From his warm gritty voice, he puts his life and his dreams into contrasted pictures, and delivers authentic stories coming out of a trunk full of memories, nightmares, fantasies and hopes.
